Pro-Choice
I am pro-choice in the debate of abortion. I believe that it is the woman's body so it is their choice to terminate their pregnancy or not. Now, that doesn't mean I support it, but I don't think it should be illegal. There are some circumstances that would require abortion, at least in my opinion. Rape, incest, or if the baby has a condition that is detected before birth that would give it a disability it's whole life. Sometimes it's just humane to not bring a baby that would suffer out into the world. There are other reasons why women have abortions, which are morally wrong. If they don't want to get pregnant, they should take better precautions. If they just don't want the baby, they should choose adoption. These women need to take responsibility for their actions. Pro-choice is different than pro-life. Pro-life is more of a religious aspect. The catholic church believes that human life is precious, from the moment of conception. That is not scientifically right, actually. The embryo can not feel anything, so an abortion is not killing a human life, just a tadpole-looking thing that's not alive yet. Once it becomes a fetus, I wouldn't abort the baby no matter what. I am a very liberal person, so I clash a lot with conservative individuals. The way pro-choice connects to our book Unwind, is because "The Heartland War" was fought over this issue. The pro-life side claimed that life is sacred, but according to the young mother in chapter 9, "...the Bill of Life was supposed to protect the sanctity of life. Instead it just made life cheap." They tried to compromise between the pro-life and pro-choice soldiers, and that's where the Bill of Life came from.
