I am using the term "Teen runaway." A teen runaway is a male/female around the ages of 13-19 who has made the choice to leave the current place they are living at for what ever reasons. When a person runs away they are plaining on leaving and never coming back. There has been multiple cases where a teen has ran away and was caught. Then when they were returned to their parents they were killed immediately by one of their parents.
Teen runaway relates to the book Unwind because there is two teens who are running away from their unwinding. One is a male named Conner and the other a Female named Risa. Then one kid who was at first thought he was being kidnapped but then soon realized he was being saved and was encouraged to run away from situations that would of gotten him killed. And while all of this is happening if they get caught or ever returned home they would be killed right away.
Conner is a male at the age of 16. He wasn't told he was being unwound. He found out by looking for a stapler in his fathers office and found only three tickets to the Bahamas. But there was four people in their family. So he started to go through his fathers office and he found the papers for him to be unwound already signed. He tells his a friend/ girlfriend named Ariana about his situation. So she tells him "We should run away" Chapter 1 Pg 4. Conner knows this is a big risk. Because he still has time to live before being unwound. So if he gets caught then he will be unwound sooner then the date that was set up.
Then Lev is a young boy who is the tenth child. He has been raised to believing that he is the tenth percent that is suppose to be given back to god. So as soon as he turned 13 he was as the age where he could be Tithe. (Unwound) Lev spends a lot of time with this guy named Pastor Dan. They were on their way to the harvesting camp when a little boy ran in front of the car. And Lev was took out the car by that little boy. When Lev got loose he ran back to the car. And that is when Pastor Dan yells at Lev saying "Run Lev!" Pg.37
